The weekend Mercato Antiquario in Lucca takes place every third Sunday and the preceding Saturday of the month. The charming walled city of Lucca is a 1.20′ train ride from Florence. This antique market dots the city center streets and piazze which makes for a fun way to discover the city itself and its numerous beautiful churches.

The size of this market is not overwhelming and can be fueled with caffe’ or gelato breaks. I went to this market last weekend and found few crowds in the summer sunshine. I like to scour flea markets to find interesting objects that inspire new art projects and jewelry pieces.

Hours are 8am-7pm and in July and August, open until 11pm!

More information can be found at www.comune.lucca.it.
