Fortezza Antique Market in Piazza Vittorio Veneto
Fortezza Antique Market in Piazza Vittorio Veneto

Fortezza da Basso Flea Market, FlorenceScouring flea markets everywhere I go is not only a great pass-time which satisfies my hunting and gathering urge and a visit to memory lane museum, but finding unexpected items inspires my creative work. With a stroke of luck, locating something with potential presents a fun challenge to incorporate it into a piece of jewelry or art work, or perhaps just as an addition to my collection of objects.

In Florence (Italy), there are many regular antique and flea markets (mercati dei pulci). One of my favorites is in the garden of the Fortezza da Basso which takes place every 3rd weekend of the month, even during most of the winter, surrounding a pond and fountain.
