XVII artigianato & palazzo 2011 @ gardini corsini, Florence

XVII Artigianto e Palazzo 2011artigianato

3 days of demonstrations with Florentine artisans of traditional hand-crafts: For three days, you can visit the historic and beautifully maintained formal garden of Palazzo Corsini sul Prato in Florence and watch master artisans working their hand-crafts of ancient (and almost lost) techniques of work in bronze, silver, gold, wood, glass, wrought iron, paper, and marble representing some of the historic Florentine guilds from gold leafing to jewelry making, from printing to pottery, from scents to hat making, from restoration of marble inlaid furniture to glass making. Visiting each “bottega” or workshop set up in the garden and in the limonaie (citrus green-houses) amidst stone statues, flowers, rosemary, and citrus trees, you can really appreciate the work of various traditional artisan trades.

  1. I have attended this event twice and was very impressed with Palazzo Corsini and spent time at each bottega that featured their traditional artisan products. Not to miss if you are in Florence!
