The latest necklace in a series of found metal measuring instruments is this large pendant made from sterling silver, 18k gold, and brass, measuring 71mm in diameter. I found the vintage dial in an antique market, along with some colorful watch faces that I already made into pendants.
I’m not quite sure what the black dial measures but it references 100 feet. The numbers look like they once glowed in the dark. I fabricated a sterling silver frame around the perimeter, added attachments for the chain on the back, gave it a liver of sulfur patina, and riveted the dial with 18k rivets. This piece took me a lot longer to create than it should have, with difficulty getting the outer and interior frames all perfectly aligned to fit the metal dial, but finally it is completed!
